This iconic 14oz indigo denim jacket, inspired by the 1951 Levi’s Type II, combines timeless style with contemporary craftsmanship. Featuring reinforced buttons and dual patch chest pockets, it offers a vintage boxy fit that sits comfortably at the waist, exuding mid-century cool. Created under Freewheelers’ The Vanishing West label, this jacket is perfect for layering or as a standalone piece, making it a staple for any wardrobe.
From the brand: We have received a re-stock of one of our all time customer favourites here at Son of a Stag. Produced under Freewheelers’ sub-label, The Vanishing West, this beautiful interpretation of one of the most iconic pieces in denim history is something to behold. The 507xx is a 14oz denim jacket based very specifically on the 1951 Levi’s Type-II.
It has all the features that we know and love, and which allowed this jacket shape to cement itself into the pages of fashion history. Two patch chest pockets sit aside the pleated chest plate of this trucker, which features a selvedge fold on the inner. Reinforced buttons are set securely in place down the central button plate, as well as on the cuff and rear waist epaulettes. This classic example of a Type II is a boxy shape which sits a little off the shoulder, and is cut a little shorter than a Type-III. It sits comfortably on the waist for an iconic 'mid-century cool' silhouette.
