A more old school style of chore coat than the coverall, Monitaly's Italian Jail Jacket is a fantastic every-day jacket. The pattern is minimal and uncomplicated, evocative of old hospital and jail jackets, designed for simple utility and everyday comfort while doing a variety of different tasks.
Featuring sturdy double-needle flat felled seam construction throughout and set-in sleeves, the front closes up with three military grade melamine buttons (with a secret fourth button can be used to secure the lapel), everything about this is made to last. For storage, three bucket pockets sit across the front in the classic orientation, so you'll have space for your hands or keys and whatnot.
It's made from a plush medium weight wool flannel that's woven with 85% wool and 15% nylon yarns. It weighs in at about 12oz, and feels substantial without being too warm, breathing fairly well and staying comfortable during transitional seasons. It has a fairly structured drape and a slightly scratchy texture reminiscent of vintage blankets and old school hunting flannel. The alternated brown and tan yarns form an intricate broken stripe pattern.
