The Type Shirt Jacket is Blluemade's interpretation of the classic "Type-X" denim jacket silhouette, borrowing details from multiple iterations without directly recreating or reproducing a specific model. It features a simple button front, with a classic collar and relaxed fit. The hem is flat, with a separate waistband piece to break up the profile, and two roomy open chest pockets.
It's made from a deep green Italian corduroy, woven from 100% cotton, with a wide wale and subtle shine across its surface. The "wale" of a corduroy fabric refers to the thickness of its vertical rows (called "wales"), where "wide-wale" generally refers to thicker and heavier fabrics, while "narrow-wale" usually indicates more narrow or micro-cords. As soft and warm as any other world-class corduroy, it's got a nice heft to it, with just enough drape and a handsome texture that will only get better with time, as the nap wears down in certain high-friction areas, and the texture slowly changes throughout.
Each piece is designed in Brooklyn and then cut-and-sewn together in NYC's Garment District, at a family-owned and women-run workshop that Blluemade have been working with for years.
