1460 Made in England Lace Up Boots - Black Waxy Commander
Product Description
The Dr. Martens 1460 in Black Waxy Commander leather epitomizes durable style. Crafted in England with a goodyear welt construction and heat-sealed for longevity, these boots feature a chunky toe and custom stacked semi-lug sole for excellent traction. The unique shrunken cowhide leather is water-resistant and ages beautifully, making them ideal for both rugged wear and urban adventures. With a roomy shaft and tonal black details, these boots pair well with various styles and outfits. From the brand: The Dr. Martens Made in England line is produced at the original factory in Wollaston, England, using premium materials and the same construction methods beloved vintage docs. Every pair is built with a traditional goodyear welt, then given a heat-sealing treatment that bonds the sole and uppers further, before finishing with reinforcing welt stitches - resulting in a technically resoleable (though it is admittedly more challenging than other welted footwear as a result of the heat-sealing) and exceptionally durable pair of shoes. The 1460 is the iconic Dr Martens boot silhouette, with a chunky workwear design and a classic rounded plain toe. Closing up with 8 tonal black eyelets and black woven laces, it's got a nice visual heft, with a chunky outsole and roomy shaft that style handsomely with all manner and fit of trousers. "Waxy Commander" leather is a proprietary tannage from C.F. Stead in England, a specialty shrunken cowhide with a napped texture and handsome grain details. As the name implies, the hides are waxed heavily during production, giving the finished leather a gentle shine and a healthy dose of water-resistance. Over time, the wax will wear down, and the smoother sections of the uppers will scuff into a more suede-like texture. They stand on a custom Dr. Martens sole, with a stacked semi-lug tread that offers some of the very best in durability, traction, and comfort - boasting oil, fat, acid, alkali, and petrol resistance on the bottom of every pair. The inside features a custom leather insole, and the uppers are held together with high SPI (stitches per-inch) tonal thread. True to size. Black waxy commander leather from C.F.
