The Type B-10 jacket, launched in 1943, revolutionizes military wear with its water-resistant 80/3 ply cotton twill fabric, offering comfort and freedom of movement. Lined with a luxurious Alpaca and wool blend, it features a cozy 1/2” shearling sheep mouton collar for warmth. Functional design elements include two spacious button-down pockets, knitted cuffs, and a military specification brass zipper. Adorned with the AS Air Force insignia, this jacket blends heritage and practicality effortlessly. From the brand: Launched in 1943 as the first non-leather US Military flying jacket, the Type B-10 changed the lives of thousands of pilots for the better. Cut from a water resistant cotton fabric of 80/3 ply combed twill, this piece offered a much greater freedom of movement. The short, boxy shape of its predecessors has been maintained for comfort, and an Alpaca and wool lining has been added for supreme comfort. Protection for the neck comes from a 1/2” shearling sheep mouton collar, which can be easily popped up for added warmth. Two front button down pockets have been included for functionality, along with buttoned epaulettes on the shoulders, knitted cuffs and waistband, and a mil specs brass zipper with leather tab. For a final touch of heritage detailing, the AS Air Force’s insignia has been branded on the left shoulder for all to see.
