New Medical Shirt - Indigo
Product Description
The New Medical Shirt by Nigel Cabourn draws inspiration from the historic gear worn by medics during the 1953 Everest Expedition. Crafted from lightweight indigo chambray, it features reinforced ventilation holes and durable triple-needle seams. With two open-top chest pockets, including a dedicated pen pocket, this shirt combines practical utility with a vintage aesthetic. Perfect for those who appreciate both style and functionality, it's truly a timeless piece. From the brand: Nigel Cabourn needs very little introduction, but deserves one nonetheless: having over 50 years experience designing and working in the menswear industry, with multiple decades-old brands and international stores with cult followings under his belt. His eponymous brand has a focus on practical and hard-wearing textiles from vintage workwear, producing inspired takes on classic military apparel from the last century. Like all of Cabourn’s designs, the New Medical shirt has a strong historical pedigree. The shirt is based on those worn by the medics on Edmund Hillary's successful Everest Expedition in 1953. It features a unique yoke and underarm construction with reinforced ventilation holes. The shirt pockets are open topped with button closures and pen pocket in the left chest pocket. Made from an indigo chambray with a tightly-woven lightweight face and a rinsed finish. It's all sewn together with triple-needle seams for extra durability, and the ventilation holes were sewn in using vintage machines. Fits true to size.
