Product Description

Made from exquisite cordovan leather, this belt combines durability with unmatched style. Known as the 'King of Leather,' cordovan offers a refined sheen that adds sophistication to both casual and formal outfits. With proper care, it develops a rich patina over time, making it a unique accessory. Available in multiple sizes, this luxurious belt is perfect for elevating any wardrobe, showcasing an artisan finish that only a select few tanneries produce. From the brand: THE CORDOVAN – Cordovan Belt A top-quality leather belt that pairs beautifully with both suits and casual outfits. Its durability allows it to gain even more luster and depth with use, gradually becoming a unique piece that is truly your own. A basic yet luxuriously refined accessory — a must-have item for your wardrobe. What is Cordovan? Known as the “King of Leather” or the “Diamond of Leather,” cordovan is prized for its beautiful sheen and exceptional strength. It is obtained from the hindquarters of farm-raised horses, with only a very small amount available from each animal, making it extremely rare. Today, only a handful of tanneries in the world — mainly in the United States and Japan — produce cordovan. It boasts two to three times the durability of cowhide, and this toughness is one of its great appeals. Finishing The leather is carefully tanned over a long period by skilled artisans. It is finished using a technique called mizuzome (water dyeing) with water-based dyes known as aniline. Unlike pigment-finished cordovan, which is often used for items like school satchels, water-dyed cordovan offers high transparency, allowing the natural character of the leather to show through in a delicate finish. It develops a rich patina (aging) quickly, changing into an even more appealing and flavorful texture with continued use. Care Like leather shoes, leather belts also require proper care. With regular maintenance, they can be used for many years. Detailed care instructions can be found here: https://yomukama.shirt.co.jp/179 Daily Care After use, wipe the belt with a soft dry cloth to remove any dust or dirt from the surface. When the Surface Feels Dry After dry wiping, apply a thin layer of appropriate leather cream and polish with a soft cloth. If Small White Spots Appear on the Surface These spots appear when dryness causes the surface fibers to lift. After dry wiping, apply a thin layer of appropriate leather cream and polish along the grain to smooth the fibers. If Color Fading Is Noticed After dry wiping, apply a color-matching cream to restore the color, then finish with an appropriate leather cream. If the Belt Gets Wet Cordovan is extremely sensitive to water. If it gets wet, wipe it off immediately.
