Product Description

This iconic bomber jacket is a masterclass in military heritage. Crafted from vegetable-tanned bronco hide, it showcases meticulous detailing inspired by the A-2 flight jacket used by the U.S.A.A.F. The hand-painted graphic, representing the B-26 Marauder 'Mister Period Twice,' adds a unique touch, celebrating aviation history. Designed with a larger collar and durable construction, this jacket effortlessly combines style and functionality, making it perfect for both casual wear and standout occasions. From the brand: Master's of historical military reproduction, Buzz Rickson's gets microscopic with the details on the garments the make. Middletown, Pennsylvania’s Rough Wear Clothing was awarded five contracts to manufacture the A-2 flight jacket for the U.S.A.A.F. This version was based off the fourth contract: 23380. Made of a vegetable tanned bronco hide, this jacket features a larger collar with a collar stand. The leather is made by soaking Italian raw hides in a tank with tannin extracted from bark. It is then finished with seal brown aniline dye. The back of this jacket is hand painted with a graphic that adorned B-26 Marauder flown by the 451st Bomb Squadron in Holland, as well as an image of this plane in action. The plane received the nickname "Mister Period Twice" after it avoided participation in a disastrous bombing raid on the power plants in Ijmuiden, Holland.
