From the brand: Originally issued to U.S. Navy ship crews in the 1940s–50s, the N-1 Deck Jacket is one of the most iconic military outerwear pieces. Early versions featured wide-wale cotton piqué shells in navy with “U.S. NAVY” stenciled on the back, while later models adopted a fine cotton piqué known as “Jungle Cloth.” The stencil moved to the chest, the lining was updated to alpaca (later alpaca-wool blends), and the color shifted from navy to tan for improved concealment on deck and in port. With exceptional warmth and durability, the N-1 remained in service well into the early 1960s and became a classic among sailors.
