Designed with a dye-free process to minimize environmental impact, this piece is not only stylish but also easy to maintain, requiring minimal washing. Elevate your outerwear collection with this versatile, eco-friendly option. From the brand: Traditionally used to make pea coats for mariners, the dense weave of melton makes it superbly resistant to both water and wind. A meticulously constructed shirt for the inclement weather of the Pacific Northwest, our versatile Modern Melton Wool is a contemporary take on a timeless design—made from warm heayweight post-consumer recycled wool, it’s soft, sturdy and naturally insulating, with cozy comfort and breathability for all-day wear. As our wool has already lived a previous life—the source garments are carefully salvaged before being sorted, processed and re-woven—it features a felt-like touch that’s smoother than other wools, and it’s manufactured in a unique, dye-free process that saves water and eliminates the need for harmful chemical dyes. Made in Canada 17-oz 80% post-consumer recycled wool/20% nylon. Warm, durable and naturally weather-resistant, this comfortable heavyweight blend is manufactured in a unique dye-free process for reduced environmental impact. Melton starts out a touch stiff, but softens quickly with wear. Our Modern Melton is cut like a tailored shirt, with patterning that’s narrower through the shoulders and torso with more space through the hip; there’s also a bit of extra room in the arms for layering. To wear as an overcoat, we suggest moving up one size. For further details, see our sizing chart. Tightly woven wool has microbial and stain-resistant properties. Shirt only needs to be washed once a year (if that). Wash in cold water and hang to dry. To reduce energy and water use, we recommend washing only when necessary. Less washing also gives your garments a longer life.
