Army football, centered at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, has a storied history dating back to 1890, when the first Army-Navy Game established one of the most celebrated rivalries in college sports. The team, known as the Black Knights, quickly adopted football as a means to instill discipline, physical fitness, and teamwork among cadets.
