- Different back closure to final style construction ie. stud back, omega clasp etc.
- Gold plating colour different to signature MM tone
- Visible glue mark on back of stone setting
- Incorrect gemstone colour or colour not put into production
- Issue in production that may affect the structural integrity but still wearable
- Marks in gemstones that may be natural occlusions, or discreet faults on back of stone
