Cotton/Linen Twill Daytripper Jacket - Camp Khaki
Product Description
The Daytripper jacket channels 1960s counterculture with a modern twist, inspired by classic British Battledress. Crafted from a custom blend of 65% cotton and 35% linen slub twill, it features a pleated body and two spacious chest pockets for function and flair. Embellished with unique theater-made patches and a waist belt, this versatile piece is perfect for layering over casual tees. Embrace the fusion of vintage militaria and creative style with this striking garment. From the brand: The Daytripper was originally thought up once we got our hands on a 1940s "austerity" British Battledress. We had been delving into 1960s Laurel Canyon culture (and more notably, the counterculture), Woodstock, Ken Kesey and his followers, etc. We really appreciated how these people wore and styled militaria. They were taking these masculine symbols of war and flipping them on their heads- they'd cut them up, repurpose them, decorate them with their own DIY patches and embroideries, and really change how these garments were viewed, and changed what they represented. We felt this jacket was a great way to do that in our own way. We played on the theater-made insignia that you'd often see on a lot of military garments and made our own for the Daytripper. We used our cotton/linen slub twill that you find on our chinos and Officer's Shirts and applied it to the multi-pleated, cropped body of the battledress. Best worn open over our ringer tees.
