RedCloud's 15th Anniversary brings you a WWII model replica denim, a special project inspired by meticulous study of an original 1942 pair. Reconstructed with attention to cotton yarn, twist, and weaving density, the fabric mirrors the rough texture and deep indigo dyeing characteristic of the 'XX' period, resulting in stronger contrast fading.
In 1942, amidst wartime resource controls, workwear adaptations emerged: cinch-backs were omitted, rivets limited, and arcuates hand-painted to conserve threads. Yet, the belt loop persisted in 2x1 denim fabric. The addition of 'S' to the model number in that era, interpreted as 'Simplify,' becomes a distinctive feature in this anniversary model.
