Like so many other fabrics that we’re drawn to working with, it will age well as it goes the distance. This particular corduroy measures 8 wales and is made in Japan. Wales are units of corduroy measurement that designate the number of ridges, or wales, per inch. The lower the number, the thicker the wale; 8 is definitely on the wider side. To showcase it, we chose two styles that come from a working past. The first is our Shop Jacket, based on the French bleu de travail - which is like the chore coat’s European cousin.
