From the brand: All our Viberg Service Boots are on a single E width, we suggest sizing down one full size from your standard sneaker size or brannock measurement. Consider sizing down a half size if you have a wide foot. Viberg's Service Boot is directly based on their original model, first produced in 1931. A similar pattern was also used by multiple nations as a standard issue military boot during WWII, however Viberg's quintessential Service Boot is modeled after the Canadian military's WWII Service Boot pattern. Our lineup of Chromexcel Viberg Service Boots are custom built for Brooklyn Clothing Co. by Viberg in their Victoria workshop. These are variations on Viberg's core CXL lineup, and with our chosen modifications, they have since become core models for us in the past few years. These makeups were originally introduced with unstructured toes, which Viberg has since discontinued - the 2.0 models feature 100% leather toe puffs, as Viberg is the only bootmaker in our industry using solely leather and thread to construct their boots. The only metal to be found is in the eyelets, steel shank, and brass nails, making Viberg the last remaining bootmaker to use these hardy materials and traditional construction. Chromexcel is a hot-stuffed combination tanned leather that goes through a lengthy tanning process at Horween's facility in Chicago, where it spends a month traveling from floor to floor, becoming heavily impregnated wiith grease and wax in the process. The end product is a soft, supple, and flexible hide which is packed full of oils, which gives Chromexcel the excellent pullup that it is known for - when the leather is flexed or bent, the oils are displaced and beautiful tonal highs and lows become visible. CXL only gets better with age, and taking care of the leather is as simple as it gets.
