From the brand: 手編みで使用するような太番手のリサイクルコットン糸を希少な旧式編み機で編み立てたローゲージソックスです。〈ROTOTO〉が使用するリサイクルコットン糸は、同じ奈良県を拠点とする糸商社が開発したオリジナルの糸。繊維が短いため、日本国内の紡績工場で使用されずに産業廃棄物として処分されるはずだった、通称「落ちわた（未利用の繊維）」と呼ばれる繊維を集め、特殊な技術で紡ぎ直した地球環境に配慮された糸です。その特性から若干毛羽立ちやすさはありますが、異なるカラーの糸をそれぞれ２本取りにし、一緒に編むことで杢感（ミックス感）を表現し、毛羽立ちや汚れが目立ちにくいデザインに仕上げました。

These chunky socks are knitted with a rare traditional machine with thick recycled cotton yarn that is often used for hand-knitting. ROTOTO always opts for recycled cotton yarn developed by a yarn company based also in Nara Prefecture. Their environment-minded product is made out of cotton waste from spinneries in Japan by re-spinning it with unique techniques. Although the material is more likely to get frayed, the mixed heather color made with two-strand yarn makes dirt and fuzz less visible.
