It was custom-built for a team of American expeditioners attempting to climb K2 (The Savage Mountain) in 1953. By removing the sleeves and hood from the jacket, the vest maintained similar heat retention capabilities while allowing for improved mobility. The Cotton/Nylon Down Vest features a durable outer shell made from 60% cotton and 40% nylon, complemented by a 100% nylon rip-stop lining for added durability.
