This is our first truly baggy pant. We started with an oversized vintage canvas work wear pant I’ve been wearing for a few years. They were about two sizes too big and I wore a belt to cinch them in at the waist. We reworked the style to keep the proportions and baggy fit and bring in the waist to true-to-size. We paired the silhouette with the same heavy canvas we’re using for the Salmiana and Mai tote bags. It dyes beautifully and has a soft-hand feel while basically being bullet-proof. This style is made from a canvas fabric that will last years. Styling tip: wear these guys on your true waist, and roll the bottoms thick.
The Arroqueño is part of our Paper Canvas Collection made with Raw Mexican Cotton Canvas, a 100% Cotton fabric that arrives to our workshop dyed and laundered. After we sew the garment, we vintage wash it for a wrinkled soft feel. We call it the “Paper Canvas Collection” because the garment, after wash, has a distinctly crumpled paper look to it. It kind of takes wrinkles to a new level, sure you can still iron or steam our pieces, but the wrinkles *are* forever. Trust us, you’ll dig it.
