She is known for the invention of the waterproof diaper which was named to the National Inventors Hall of Fame in 2015. In 1946 she set out to solve the problem women had of washing and scalding their children's diapers. He manufactured in this first phase of his invention, a waterproof diaper cover, using the fabric of a parachute, a nylon cloth diaper that did not allow urine to pass through to clothing, so that the child would not wet either his clothes or the clothes in the crib.
