Ring Spun Yarn
The Ring Spun Yarn was developed in the 1830’s and is the oldest and most basic method of yarn spinning- before then it was made using a spinning wheel. The process involves twisting and thinning the cotton strands to make a very fine, strong, soft rope of cotton. Ring Spun Yarn is very stable, durable, and soft to the touch. This t-shirt has a double stitched neckline and reinforced armpits.
Open End Spun Yarn
Open End Spun Yarn was first produced in the 1950’s. This method of spinning involves fibres being fed into an Open End Spun rotating machine. In the machine, the staple fibre is spread, air gathers, and is spun in the rotating turbine. Due to centrifugal force, a rougher and harder fibre is created that is dry to the touch. This t-shirt has raglan sleeves and a chest pocket.
VORTEX Spun Yarn
VORTEX Spun Yarn is the newest Japanese technology consisting of two-segmented structures. The centre of the yarn is surrounded by the staple fibre, which cannot twist, so breaking the thread does not happen. This is the newest and most innovative technique because vortex spun yarns have lower hairiness, better piling resistance, and is soft to touch. This t-shirt has contrast stitching detail at the neckline.
