The Wilkes is the newest fit introduced into the Freenote denim line. The fit and construction methods are an ode to the original cowboy cut. We began with the traditional western fit and modernized the overall specs for an updated classic meant for all occasions. A generous top block with an elongated front rise matches with a fuller thigh and moderate taper for a fit that works great with any pair of boots. The construction details include a yoke over, a double needle outseam, and a preserved selvedge detail with the folded outseam.
Introducing the newest fabric to the denim collection, the 16 Ounce Indigo Brown. Woven for Freenote by Yoshiwa Mills in Japan, it features our signature antique gold selvedge ticking. Weighing in at 16 ounces, the fabric is on the heavier end of the mid-weight range allowing for more defined creasing without too difficult a break-in. Initially this denim has a very dark indigo appearance with just a hint of golden-brown weft peeking through. The surface has a hairy texture, an attribute that aids in the fading process and results in a softer hand feel. Over time the indigo warp will chip away to reveal more of the brown tones underneath. Extremely high wear areas will fade to white with brown along the edges creating a unique and varied patina profile. This fabric makes a great alternative to traditional indigo denim and is a perfect wardrobe addition for the denim enthusiast looking for a unique fading project.
