But what also makes cotton popular is the fact that it’s a sustainable choice, too. Soft, light, and breathable, compared to other common clothing fibers, cotton has the advantage of being a completely natural product that doesn’t require an intensive chemical process in order to be transformed into fabric. Recycled polyester is made from recycled materials (PET and polyester fabrics). By choosing recycled polyester, we’re able to deliver the same technical performance in fibers with a smaller environmental footprint. The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) is the worldwide leading textile processing standard for organic fibres. This standard stipulates requirements throughout the supply chain for both ecological and labour conditions in textile and apparel manufacturing using organically produced raw materials. Organic production is based on a system of farming that maintains and replenishes soil fertility without the use of toxic, persistent pesticides or synthetic fertilisers. In addition, it includes welfare standards for animal husbandry and prohibits genetically modified organisms. Elastane is the generic term used to describe a kind of fabric called spandex, and its primary attribute is its incredible elasticity. Elastane is an entirely synthetic fabric; no organic materials are used to make this substance, and it does not exist anywhere in nature. TRANSPARENCY/ETHICAL PROCESS This garment has been produced by responsible manufacturing partners. Our team has developed a close relationship with every people in the factories of our supply chain, and we consider each employee of the factory as a member of the Rita Row team.
