Issued to French Army paratroopers in the 1980s, this TAP (Troupes Aéroportées) bag was designed as a robust all purpose kit bag for airborne operations, training, and deployment. Intended to carry a soldier’s full field kit, it reflects the pragmatic and restrained approach of French military equipment during the late Cold War period, where every detail serves a clear function.
Constructed entirely from heavy duty nylon, the bag is reinforced with webbing straps running around the body for strength and load distribution. Its cylindrical format allows for efficient packing of uniforms, boots, and field gear while remaining compact enough for transport and storage. Our version is made from 100% nylon and fitted with a custom metal “UNIVERSAL” zipper. The original Aerazur manufacturer label has been replaced with a customer-made UNIVERSAL label, keeping the piece grounded in its military roots while adding a unique custom touch.
